Article on Danish author Jens Fink-Jensen

[edit]

I have here in Copenhagen been working on the article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jens_Fink-Jensen. Someone has quit recently put a notice in the beginning of the article saying that "the article needs additional citations for verification". I have read the instructions on the related wiki page but I still can't figure out which information is requested. The article about Jens Fink-Jensen is based on partly the Danish wiki article about Jens Fink-Jensen (which I have mainly written and updated), on various Danish literature and websites and some international websites. Some of them are listed as external links at the buttom of the article. For my work I have also received verification directly from Mr Fink-Jensen and from his websites, www.jensfink.com and www.coast-line.eu. Most of the background material is in Danish. Will someone please tell what is needed in the article? It has been on Wikipedia for about three years now, and never before has anyone questioned the information in it. I can tell that all information in the article is correct and has been verified in many ways. Kind regards! :-) Poesi (talk) 20:43, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Editors will often slap a template like that on any article which lacks in-line citations or a reference section. That appears to be the case here. However, there is a further problem: the main source you list in the external links is self-written by the author. That's a problem (WP:SELFPUB) on a BLP where guidelines are appropriately strict. Instead, it's better to source it out with articles from Politiken, Berlingske Tidende, Weekendavisen, etc. That shouldn't be a problem for someone like Fink-Jensen. I went ahead and added a few references and removed the citation tag. However, the article still needs some sources which talk about his participation in the Nå!!80 festival as well as the music and photography info. Remember, it is best to source the information from reliable and independent 2nd and 3rd party sources rather than Jens himself. I don't have this book at hand, but I suspect you should be able to use it -- Dansk forfatterleksikon. Værker. Redigeret af John Chr. Jørgensen, under medvirken af Thomas Bredsdorff. Rosinante, 2001. 307 sider. CactusWriter | needles 15:05, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi CactusWriter. Thanks a lot for your answer and for your effort regarding adding some of the first citations. I can see that someone added a citation about NÅ!!80. I'll see if I can find more and do it right. Do you think that the article still needs many citations? I can see that the article is still regarded a "start" article and rated "of low importance" which I do feel a bit sorry about regarding all I have done to build up the article over a long time. What is your opinion? Kindly Poesi (talk) 20:19, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
