Family

[edit]

I have an email out requesting information from him on his family. If anyone happens by before I get anything with information, please fill it in.

Corenbot

[edit]

I wrote it all myself while referencing the site given, not even sure what that .doc is from.

Indeed, that .doc is a mystery. The bot notices the overlap, but can't evaluate the likelihood that a given page is the actual source used. Unfortunately much of what you wrote was identical or very similar indeed to the page at http://susumc.org/index.php/about-us/our-bishop (comparison), and I've had to remove a good part of it (see below). Please feel free to rewrite, but in your own words. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 14:17, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Possible References

[edit]

I'm leaving these here for myself or others to use, if you have anything, please feel to contribute.

For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, and according to fair use may copy sentences and phrases, provided they are included in quotation marks and referenced properly. The material may also be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Therefore such paraphrased portions must provide their source. The issue here is that this is factual information presented in chronological order. There is no copyright infringement, as facts cannot be copyrighted. Jerodlycett (talk) 02:08, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please read Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. As a single example, here's a comparison of a bit of your text with the original:
Our article The source
During his tenure he was instrumental in raising funds for building a Memorial Chapel at Aldersgate Center in Swartswood, New Jersey in memory of Henry Appenzeller. During his tenure on staff of the conference, he was instrumental in raising funds for building a Memorial Chapel in memory of Henry G. Appenzeller, the first Methodist missionary from America to Korea, at Aldersgate Center in Swartswood, New Jersey.
You've omitted a couple of phrases, and moved "at Aldersgate Center in Swartswood, New Jersey" before "in memory of Henry G. Appenzeller"; your text contained not just the facts but the exact language of the source.
With very few exceptions, all content here must be written entirely in your own words. Here you could have written, for example: "While there, he helped raise money to build a memorial chapel to Henry G. Appenzeller ..." or "He was active in the fund-raising for the Henry G. Appenzeller memorial chapel ..." or anything else you like, provided it does not re-use the words and form of expression of the source. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:26, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
