Untitled[edit]

The history section is a complete copy of the information on USC's page on the USC-Notre Dame rivalry at [[1]]. Someone should write some original content.

Most Points[edit]

It says the most points scored by a Notre Dame was 51, then in the next line with combined points, a Notre Dame score of 55 points is listed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 130.64.155.207 (talk) 02:09, 8 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Figured it out: I knew off the top of my head that ND was, in fact 51 --then it hit me: USC won a national title in 1974, and that USC-ND game was famous as "the Comeback" where USC, down 24-7 at the half, won the game 55-24. Thus someone had reversed the score in the line below largest number of points scored (in fact, the same line about most points scored by an individual team also has USC's 1974 performance). The "mistake" was corrected. --Bobak 16:02, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Created separate Notre Dame-USC Rivalry page[edit]

I created a separate rivalry page for the series and propose a removal of the series facts section on this article, as I have moved it into the rivalry article. I also sourced and edited the majority of the text to avoid plagiarism. I would like to get this article as well as the other up to featured status on wikipedia.Tedmoseby (talk) 23:29, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Merger[edit]

Jeweled Shillelagh into Notre Dame–USC football rivalry. The content is repetitive and the trophy is notable primarily because of the rivalry, where information about it would best be presented in the appropriate context. It also follows the established precedent of other rivalry trophies being described or merged within a parent rivalry article.
