Proposed changes[edit]

I am an OTRS volunteer corresponding with the subject of this article in OTRS ticket 2014050510013343. Not knowing what he was doing, using his now-blocked account User:Jamesgarver1, he inadvertantly removed large swaths of material that included specific statements he felt were incorrect. He was unfamiliar with our policies and guidelines, and unfamiliar with communicating his reasons, and got blocked.

He desires the following minor changes (I have added my comments beneath each one):

  • He writes "my name is James. Not Jim."
I think renaming the article is reasonable, since he goes by James, and the sources about him seem mixed in how he is referred to. More of the sources refer to him as James as far as I can tell, so the article would be in compliance with WP:COMMONNAME by renaming.
  • "Lana and I have been married since October 16 1999."
Someone recently removed the paragraph about his marriage to Lana because it was unsourced. An emailed marriage certificate wouldn't satisfy Wikipedia:Verifiability so it's probably best to leave this out until a verifiable source can be found.
  • "My profession is general contractor and owner of Garver Builders Llc. I have not performed as a musician since 2000."
It is reasonable to include this information if a source can be found to verify it. I have suggested that he tweak his bio on his website to clarify this point.

If there are no objections, I will make these changes pending confirmation of those points in the OTRS ticket. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:00, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
