Jim McGinty did not replace Carmen Lawrence as WA ALP leader. She was replaced by Ian Taylor before being replaced himself by McGinty.--The Shadow Treasurer 02:39, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Legal Affairs minister[edit]

As stated in the article that in addition to being Attorney General and Justice Minister, McGinty was also Legal Affairs minister. I understand there is a difference between Attorney General and Justice Minister but don't really understand how Legal Affairs is any different to either Attorney General or the Justice portfolio.

Can anyone explain this difference? 49.3.72.79 (talk) 03:57, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've reworded the article a bit. He was actually the Minister for Legal Justice and Legal Affairs, which was one ministry at the time. It was just a renaming of the Minister for Legal Affairs. As to why the ministry was renamed, I don't know. Steelkamp (talk) 04:03, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
