location same as Mahuiling Air Base[edit]

Note that the location of Jiujiang Lushan Airport seems to be the same as Mahuiling Air Base as given in the List of People's Liberation Army Air Force airbases. --katpatuka 07:14, 22 February 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Katpatuka (talkcontribs)

Procedural close. Appears to be a self-revert of an undiscussed page move. Thanks and kudos to editors for your input; everyone stay healthy! P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 14:45, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jiujiang Mountain Lu AirportJiujiang Lushan Airport – Literally zero google results for Jiujiang Mountain Lu Airport. Jiujiang Lushan Airport is more frequently used. We can find lots of results for Jiujiang Lushan Airport on Google. 1 2. Qby (talk contribs) 11:04, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There is city called lushan, it's confusing to use lushan here. Lushan translates as mountain lu Gweilo60 (talk) 11:15, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lushan is new emerged city in recent years, before there was no lushan city before. Its confusing to keep using lushan airport here after the lushan city was formed. Lushan translates as mountain Lu. Gweilo60 (talk) 11:34, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lushan should not be used here. It has different means. Lushan is a new formed city, while this airport actually refers to a mountain nearby the airport. Its better to use mountain Lu instead lushan to better represent the original name of the airport. Gweilo60 (talk) 02:17, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support this move back to the stable title. "Mountain Lu" is an awkward translation. (For reference on a variety of options, see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Chinese)#Place names.) If we were going to translate, it would be "Jiujiang Mount Lu Airport" (or, less likely, "Jiujiang Lu Mountain Airport"), although there's also no sources supporting either. Jiujiang Lushan Airport is always a reasonable option. I get the point that the airport pre-dates the renaming of Lushan City, but I also don't think there's anything misleading about saying Jiujiang Lushan Airport. The mountain Lushan, the city Lushan, and Jiujiang Lushan Airport are, understandably, all next to each other. Adumbrativus (talk) 05:37, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
