Religious meanings?
[edit]I love 'Gown', whatever the song lyrics are about, but I do like to know (call me old-fashioned). It strikes me that a lot of the lyrics (see here: http://johamiltonlyrics.tumblr.com/page/2 ) could have a religious interpretation - for example 'how beautiful is his love for you' is a fairly conventional Christian message. Yet neither this Wiki article nor any of the interviews and press articles I have read say anything about this aspect. Does anyone have any thoughts or information on the subject?109.157.228.92 (talk) 16:10, 30 October 2011 (UTC) Added: and lines like 'Iʼll be in the fields and in the mountains; Iʼm in the earth and through the seasons; Iʼm in the stones and every blade of grass; Iʼm in the air' have a Biblical ring to them, even if they are not actual quotations.109.157.228.92 (talk) 19:12, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Related to the Douglas-Hamiltons?
[edit]I notice she is described as having a Kenyan father, so I wonder if she is related to the Douglas-Hamilton family? The conservationist Ian Douglas-Hamilton and his daughters Saba and Dudu are Kenyan (of Scottish ancestry). A further coincidence is that she is said to have gone to Gordonstoun school, where at least one of the Douglas-Hamilton family has also attended. (see the Wiki list of Gordonstoun alumni.) The absence of 'Douglas' from her name does not mean very much, as people with double-barrelled names often simplify them by dropping half of the name. 109.158.46.75 (talk) 20:58, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Palace Place
[edit]The discography section describes Palace Place as a CD of 'unreleased demos', but it must have had some distribution to the public, as copies turn up on the second-hand market. I recently bought one from Amazon Marketplace. It seems to be professionally produced and packaged, e.g. the cover has a barcode. The producer, musicians, and recording studio overlap with those of 'Gown', but there is no overlap in the contents (11 songs totalling about 45 minutes). With two or three exceptions the songs may not be quite at the level of 'Gown', but it is a fine debut album. My copy has what looks like a handwritten message from Jo Hamilton on the liner notes. No record company is mentioned, but it is common for independent artists to release records themselves, either directly (e.g. from their website or at concerts) or through distributors like CD Baby. It's a pity it isn't available on streaming services, as it is far superior to most of the dross that is.2A00:23C8:7907:4B01:B1F7:15B6:141F:5B31 (talk) 15:01, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
