Compound Media[edit]

To editor DaveC1967: I've already reported you, so expect to be blocked very soon. In the meantime, consider that Wikipedia is not here to advertise podcasts or serve the desires of fanboys. Go back to Facebook. Chris Troutman (talk) 14:33, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Holy smokes. You are very rude. This is not a podcast. It is a radio network. I am not a fanboy. I am a grown man, 51 years old. I apologized for any inconvenience I may have caused, but this is a legitimate radio show with a paid subscription fee. If you click on the link, you will see that it is a legitimate radio show, with a paying audience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DaveC1967 (talkcontribs) 14:38, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have protected the page for 12 hours until you can all come to an agreement on the suitability of the link. Play nice. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:48, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that I have filed a complaint against you for your catastrophically rude comments to me. You have misinterpreted my intent with the changes I have tried to make, and you have attacked my characters. You are a positively rude man. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DaveC1967 (talkcontribs) 14:51, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It is a primary source, but there is no reason to assume it is false. I would rather we had a better source but I do not see any major issues with using it. What actually is the issue?Slatersteven (talk) 14:59, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@DaveC1967: I'm not saying it doesn't exist. I'm saying it doesn't matter. Wikipedia needs independent, reliable sources that support claims because we care about verifiability, not truth. We also try to give content proper weight to avoid covering minor facts with too much volume. I can understand your frustration, as this problem is pretty common. I ask that you respect our editing community and cease posting this stuff until we have third-party sources upon which we can base content. Chris Troutman (talk) 16:16, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I really fail to see how where she works is a minor fact (especially, and bizarrely, as it is mentioned in the lead). I really fail to see why this is such an issue. As to weight, sorry but this does not apply as it comes into play when there are two viewpoints, are there any viewpoints that she dose not host this show?Slatersteven (talk) 16:21, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As I've just said elsewhere, all we need to cite "She is the Host of Mornin'!!! on the Compound Media entertainment network" is Compound Media's own website. "'x' is a reliable source" is always the wrong question to ask - a reliable source for what, exactly? In this case, Compound Media's website is fine and complies with WP:BLPSOURCES. It is an innocuous claim, without controversy, and one would assume that Compound Media has some sort of editorial control over what goes on their website, and that you can't have any old Tom Dick or Harry being named dropped there. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:33, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I wholly agree, as I said I fail to see why this is an issue, it is a wholly uncontroversial bit of trivia, but is relevant to here career.Slatersteven (talk) 16:36, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

My goodness, I have posted here URL countless times, and it is removed each time. Here it is again. https://www.compoundmedia.com/shows/mornin!!!/ This is a pay site, it is not a podcast, as you stated in an earlier message. Why that would be an issue I do not know, since you have an entire section on Joe Rogan and his podcast.

My primary concern now is that you were colossally rude to me. You were unprofessional, and I have learned that this is not the first time you have behaved this way.

If this URL is not good enough, then I do not know what to do. Regardless, she works ion the same studio as Anthony Cumia, who owns Compound Media. This is not a podcast. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DaveC1967 (talkcontribs) 17:11, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think there is consensus to re-add your edit. Let's just wait a couple of hours until protection runs out, then I think anyone can restore it. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 17:18, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I will add, can you please stop discussing users behavior here, there is an ANI for that.Slatersteven (talk) 17:21, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
