Making people Count

[edit]

In the 1974 State Championship game with Mohave High School Head Coach, Joe Girardi, sent in 2nd string players when the score was 8 - 6. Most coaches would focus on the securing the victory with such a small lead. He once told a wrestler who had only won 2 wrestle off victories in 6 years that he was needed by a State Championship team he coached. "You can't quit, we are together in this."

He was Head Coach in the first Blue Ridge State Wrestling Championship 1974 a team which held the record for most points scored in a State Tournament. A State Runner Up Title in Wrestling was earned in 1975.

He quoted Lombardie, but not Shakespeare. BlueRidge77 (talk) 02:25, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Joe and his wife Benny were able to help employees with housing, which led to the develop a successful business "Sal & Tereasa's Mexican Food" They also provided for their own family business of "El Rancho Restaurant". These restaurants are well known establishments in the White Mountains. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BlueRidge77 (talkcontribs) 02:33, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
