The Jewish community felt it necessary to talk about Kaplan's ethnicity / religion, so I think it belongs in his bio: http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1143498911316&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

Why does Bolten's ethnicity beling in Kaplan's bio? -Will Beback 02:45, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Because media reports about Bolten have made that a meaningful point. Bios on other Bush apointees mention topics like this (wiki points out that Alito is Catholic). Perhaps Kaplan isn't a big enough figure to deserve a full biography, you seem to be a nitpicker, so I'll trust your judgement;Jcmiller
I can see why it should be in the Bolten article, I don't see why it should be in this article. -Will Beback 05:19, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I still don't understand why Kaplan's ethnicity doesn't belong in his bio. - Walkiped 02:11, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand why whenever someone is a jew, they say they were born to a jewish family? Why doesn't it just say he is jewish or ethnically jewish? I'm jewish and I don't understand why I constantly see this language all over wikipedia for numerous people. If I had a bio and it said I was born to a Jewish family, I would wonder why it doesn't simply say I'm Jewish? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 40.140.185.66 (talk) 20:37, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
