Ward wears #42 for the Washington Capitals

[edit]

Joel Ward wears uniform number 42 for the Washington Capitals. Could it also be a nod to Jackie Robinson, for whom #42 has been retired throughout Major League Baseball? Only Mariano Rivera can still wear that number in MLB, as he is the last remaining active player who wore that number prior to its being retired throughout baseball. Bill S.
