As it seems that a biography of this 18th-century person obviously needs a tidbit about his ancestor's purported doings over six centuries earlier, then it's necessary to write the doubt whether such alleged crusade actually ever took place in real life. I have no problem with that. The reason I included the story is that it was part of the family tree in 18th century and was at the time regarded as true. As it is now clearly stated that it is a legend and it was inspired by the Roland songs, at least to me this stands out only to be a legend. Your addition is completely true, but seemed a bit edgy.
