Modern Osman ??

[edit]

In the section "Field Studies in the Middle East I was unable to understand the phrase "not only as he was able to assimilate modern Osman Turk and the Arabic dialects of Egypt and Syria..." Does Osman refer to the language ? Osman is not a modern language. So it seems either the modifier "modern" or the name "Osman" should be removed depending upon the intent . I'll call the editor. 10:15, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for spotting this. My mistake. In English, it should of course be Ottoman Turkish. I've made the change.--Ipigott (talk) 10:38, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
