Knighthood/ennobling?
[edit]I thought that an American effectively renounced their citizenship if they accepted a peerage from a foreign government? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rmx256 (talk • contribs) 15:20, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- At the point of his ennobling the title was purely honorific. In the literature it looks as if from that year forward he was referred to as "count", but there was no peerage involved. • Freechild'sup? 15:30, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Other Business Interests?
[edit]I do know that John A. Creighton was partnered with John A. McShane in the Creighton - McShane Oil Company which handled their mineral holdings from 1906 to 1918. Properties owned included over 2000 acres of minerals under a good chunk of East Texas. This is shown in the public records of Tyler County, Texas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jnjgerth (talk • contribs) 00:38, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
