'The Romanian Maniac'[edit]

John Balaban was never known as 'The Romanian Maniac'. This name is simply the chapter heading describing Balaban's life and crimes in Paul Kidd's book Australia's Serial Killers (2000; Sydney: Macmillan Publishers).
