HIV status

It has been suggested that the subject of this article is eligible for inclusion in the list of HIV-positive people. If you know of any reliable source that helps to clarify this person's HIV status then please mention it on the list's talk page. Trezatium 19:11, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

There are no reliable sources. The HIV claim is nothing more than a scurrilous rumour. His official cause of death is liver cancer due to alcohol abuse. 81.29.249.127 (talk) 01:23, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
A rumor like the security guard assaulting a kid hoax you keep trying to insert into this article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.143.229.31 (talk) 11:31, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

"His funeral was attended by life-long friend Matthew Freud" There is nothing in the referenced article to indicate a "life long friendship" particularly as there is a 20 year disparity in their ages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.111.146.139 (talk) 22:12, 5 February 2009 (UTC) Isn't Matthew Freud some sort of PR person? References in Popular Culture

I have just noticed that my following edit was rejected on the grounds that "has not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy"

"John Bindon appears as a character in the novel Crime and Punishment by G F Newman ( Pub:Quercus ISBN 1849160120) about gangland London in the mid 20th century. Obviously his actions in the novel are completely fictitious."

I have read the Verifiability policy page and cannot see where it falls foul and cannot understand why it was removed. There is a fully verifiable reference to Mr Newman's book, which was the whole point of my edit. I am not claiming that Mr Bindon took part in any of the activities portrayed in this work of fiction.
