Historical Fact versus baseless bigotry

[edit]

This article has been the subject of baseless statements that have been widely disproved by genuine historians using contemporary source material. The Mcfeeters book cited was written in 1913 and is unashamedly a "revivalist book", as opposed to an impartial history. A letter written on the day of the alleged atrocity - in 1685 - exists and is quoted. All but the most hard bitten religious zealots now accept that Brown was an outlawed rebel, in possession of arms and treasonable documents. Add to that his failure to take the Oath of Abjuration and the facts speak for themselves. Please keep religious myopia away from real history, science and learning. The world is not 6,000 years old, nor was John Brown a poor murdered saint. Deeuu (talk) 15:42, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
