No personal information (not about family of origin - background et cetera)[edit]

This Cabinent-level official has no information within his WIKI article about his upbringing (state / region) nor about his life and places of work - residence

He will be in the Tabloid news for awhile following a June 10, 2012 traffic mishap in California

Is he a bureaucrat with little of note? Is he a divorced person with no living parents or relatives in his hometown?

I didn't remember his succeeding Gary Locke in this business but knew that the former Secretary became the Ambassador to China following Jon Huntsman's resignation to seek the GOP Nomination for President.

Collision incident[edit]

Moving here per WP:BLP, among other things. The details ought to be clear within a few days at most. For now, it is unduly harmful to his personal reputation to report on this without the necessary context, which is simply not available. On June 9, 2012, Bryson was allegedly involved in a pair of car crashes in San Gabriel, California and Rosemead, California, in which he is under investigation for felony hit and run. He is said to have been found unconscious at the site of the second crash. [1][2][3][4]

I was about to move it to some sort of "Personal" section. The cat's out of the bag, so to speak, and even if there's a mitigating factor, like a medical illness, this is still part of his bio and should be included on the page. If indeed we get confirmation that he suffered a seizure while driving, we can add that. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:51, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is absolutely no reason why the above pgh, along with even newer information about Bryson possibly suffering a seizure, should not be posted on the article. In fact, I think it reflects poorly on WP for the information to be censored. If it is concrete enough for reliable sources to publish, then it should be good enough for us. If you want to distance WP from the truth-claims a bit, you could use constructions such as "the press reported that..." --BlueMoonlet (t/c) 18:19, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"Censored" may be too strong a word, but I agree it belongs in the article being worked on and improved. It doesn't really matter where for now since it will probably be developed further. However, it is well-documented by multiple independent sources, including an official statement by the Department of Commerce.[1]. Wikidemon hasn't given anything in WP:BLP that requires excluding it from the article entirely. I've put it back in a dedicated section with a reference to the seizure, which is necessary for context. I'm fine with it being moved/restructured, but it should not be taken out. The reason is WP:BLP, and it's also partly explained in WP:NOT#NEWS and WP:RECENT. We're an encyclopedia, not a news wrap-up. If anyone isn't following the entertainment articles, this question comes up every time Lindsay Lohan or some other star has another car crash. When there's breaking news about a person possibly involved in some crime, we can afford to take the time to get things right. This is a great case in point as to why - as of the time I moved it here the paragraph makes him look like a felony suspect and possible drunk driver, which would likely be completely untrue given reports that it was an unexpected seizure. Giving it a separate section and mentioning the seizure report certainly mitigates that. Of course it can go in the article once we have the perspective to figure it out, although I'd sill caution that we heed WP:WEIGHT and avoid WP:RECENTIVISM. - Wikidemon (talk) 23:57, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Two Accidents, 1 "Seizure", 0 details on personal history[edit]

What kind of seizure? How far did someone allegedly in a medical emergency drive before having yet another accidents? Does he have a history of accidents? Does he have a history of driving under the influence of alcohol, prescription drugs, illegal drugs? Is there a cover-up of his history so as to facilitate the "cover story" of a medical emergency? If so, how long until the hidden details are discovered? The November elections?Jonny Quick (talk) 03:35, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There hasn't been any 'cover-up of his history' on this article: feel free to take a look through the article history if you want, nothing's being hidden there. As for the rest of your questions, they can only be answered if there are any published reliable sources which address them.
