Death date: 1980 or 1974 (from Dalvi's son?)

[edit]

A couple of days ago I added 1980 as a death date, sourcing it to p. 217 of the book "Lest we forget". Then an unregistered user said the death was in 1974, changing the date and adding the location. But I reverted, since there was no source.

On rereading the change log, it is not completely clear, but maybe (?) the unregistered user signed his change as having been done by a son of John Dalvi named Michael Dalvi. If this is the case, he would certainly know the date and location of death of his father. But we still should abide by Wikipedia's policies with regard to reliable sourcing (WP:RS) and also (WP:TRUTH). The best way to resolve this is if the user could help us identify reliable sources, even if they are not online, that give the claimed 1974 death date. Then we could deemphasize or eliminate the citation to the 1980 death date. --Presearch (talk) 21:24, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
