Why has not his Zathura score been mentioned? Surely that is quite an achievement?

Wow...can you spell BIASED?! This article needs immediate cleanup. I love John Debney's work, but the encyclopedia's job is to provide an unbiased, opinionless, objective view on its topics. Datameister (talk) 04:08, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I've made some minor edits to the article. I'm not sure how should the grammar be for an article. Anyway, I've divided the article in several sections, not just a Biography. Anyway, please improve it if you know how. Thanks :)--Surten (talk) 05:42, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Surten[reply]

POV

[edit]
  • "The style used by Debney has served as point of reference for subsequent pirate-themed scores, most notably, as an unfavorable comparison against Pirates of the Caribbean."

I'm taking the liberty of removing that sentence, as this is the article about John Debney, not how his scores compare to Hans Zimmer's work. If someone wants to point out the controversy over the Pirates series vs Cutthroat Island, then that should probably be put somewhere in the "Reception" section on the related pages (i.e., the article about the the Pirates film scores or on the Cutthroat Island page. Strange vandalism

[edit]

It seems this article has been under attack for several months by someone who seems to think they are Universal Studios. Changing studio names from Universal to Disney, their edit summaries cryptically state "I don't own anything!!!" and similar. Their edits have included numerous other unexplained changes here and elsewhere. In an effort to repair this mess, I have reverted to a version from January. - SummerPhDv2.0 23:58, 6 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Years Active

[edit]

Article says he was born in 1956 but has been active since 1961 - which seems a bit unlikely since that would imply he's been a film composer since he was 5. So either he's a film composing prodigy, or, more likely since his first film credit is 1989, the year is wrong. 2001:8003:88CC:B600:F051:7ED0:F626:5B87 (talk) 17:35, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
