Yes, I used a source that primarily talks about John Gillen Jr as a way of establishing that this John is in fact a Sr. Usage of a source that is mostly about a guy's son does not make that guy's name suddenly his son's name. Also a second addition: As is pretty standard in articles about football players whose sons have also had athletic careers, I made reference to two of Gillen's sons also becoming college football players, one of whom was John Jr. This pretty clearly justifies the use of this source.
