I have not yet dealt with the complicated subject of the various boundary changes that gave rise to the Woollongabba Divisional Board leading to the formation of the separate Town of South Brisbane, which you understand to make sense of John Hardgrave's public life. Probably that information belongs elsewhere and need only be referred to here (but I don't think it is elsewhere in Wikipedia at this time). Curiously John Hardgrave seems to have lived in Petrice Terrace in North Brisbane, but was involved in the politics of Woolongabba and South Brisbane. Maybe he lived for some time in that area and I haven't found any records for it yet. I always believed that Hardgrave Street, West End was named after him, but I guess that could have arisen either from living in the area or from his public service on South Brisbane council. What's his relationship to Gary Hardgrave, the current polician? I think he's a descendant. Kerry (talk) 05:40, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
