The following blog has a lengthy blockquote from a relevant source that is now permanently dead, but someone with access to the phytsical archives might be able to find a copy.

Thanks The ed17. I have Newspapers.com access and there are a bunch of good articles on what happened around that time. I've been working to bring all the presidents of the Packers up to GA-status. Jones is my last! Should get expanded and go to GAN in September. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 15:22, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/John Jones (American football executive); consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.[reply]

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Article improved to GA. Passes earwig (8.3%, copyvio unlikely), no close paraphrasing was found, and the hook is interesting, cited inline, and verified. @Gonzo fan2007: due the emergency backlog mode activation, nominators with more than 20 DYK nominations are required to do 2x QPQ per nomination for hooks nominated after March 8. Other than that, this hook is GTG once that requirement is met. Great work. Pseud 14 (talk) 19:52, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, I have never heard of that. Pseud 14, added. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 19:58, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Gonzo fan2007: that was exceptionally fast :) It's temporary, at least until the backlog is cleared. Pseud 14 (talk) 20:00, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have 2 other noms, just stole a QPQ from one of them to move this one along. Now working on 3 more QPQs tho! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 20:03, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
