GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose is "clear and concise", without copyvios, or spelling and grammar errors:
Mostly clear and readable, a copyvio check found nothing. However, this sentence "..and was raised by his victorious brother to the rank of kouropalates and appointed him as Domestic of the Schools of the West.[3]" should be re-written as "...and his victorious brother raised him to the rank of kouropalates and also appointed him as Domestic of the Schools of the West.[3]" The other doesn't work grammatically.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
checkY Done.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 17:35, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  1. B. MoS compliance for lead, layout, words to watch, fiction, and lists:
    Follows the guidelines.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. Has an appropriate reference section:
Appropriate reference section, which follows a consistent standard.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    B. Citations to reliable sources:
I'm accepting the offline source AGF, as well as the two foreign language sources. Well cited, except for this sentence, "The crown then passed to Constantine X Doukas (r. 1059–67), although Bryennios asserts that it was first offered to John, who refused it, despite the pressure of his wife, Anna Dalassene, to accept.", which needs a citation, as well as this sentence, "Anna became involved in conspiracies against the Doukas family, whom she never forgave for taking the throne in 1059.", which also needs a citation.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
checkY Done.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 18:28, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  2. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
All major aspects covered.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    B. Focused:
Stays focused on subject.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
No bias, fair representation.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
    Highly stable, single-author.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  5. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid fair use rationales are provided for non-free content:
Images are public domain, I fixed one tag to indicate that it is PD in the US.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    B. Images are provided if possible and are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
Useful with appropriate captions.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  6. Overall: Almost there, just a few minor issues.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    Pass or Fail:
I rewrote the problematic sentence. On the "missing" citations, in both cases the fact is cited by the next citation in each case (#7 and #11 respectively). I don't usually reference on a sentence-by-sentence basis. Once again, thanks for taking the time. Constantine 11:35, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
With citation #11, it isn't that major a deal, since the next sentence is still dealing with the same issue (the activities of Anna). I just wanted to make sure that citation 11 supports it. The first case, however, needs a citation, because it is directly summarizing a statement by Bryennios.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 17:35, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Done. Constantine 17:52, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Passed.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 18:28, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
