Prep for rewrite

Storing some sources here:

  • Some autobiographical "inspirational" article on DeJoria. May be from 1993 (as a LexisNexis source would have it), but unclear on the website. May be written by DeJoria himself. ("From Homeless To Multi-Millionaire". American Dreams. Jim Bickford. Archived from the original on 2007-10-19. Retrieved 2008-11-21.)
  • John Paul Mitchell Systems' official history. ("The Story". John Paul Mitchell Systems. Retrieved 2008-11-21.)
  • Another "inspirational" article about DeJoria, may be a marketing/vanity article. (Morgan, Kaya. "JOHN PAUL DeJORIA — A True Global Citizen". Retrieved 2008-11-21.)

"Jones"?

[edit]

I'm seeing a couple places that refer to J. P. as "John Paul Jones DeJoria". Is this a middle name or something? I haven't been able to find much of anything to hold it up- one or two cursory mentions in some not-very-reliable sources that call him by this enlargened name, but nobody who explains the Jones. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 17:32, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I've found some attribution... blah. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 03:49, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also see nothing about his Daughter Alexis DeJoria, who will be making her debut in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series in Dallas, TX on Sept 23, 2011. She is sponsored by Patron Tequila, and is a national event winner in Top Alcohol Funny Car in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, and will be racing for Kalitta Motorsports in the Nitro Funny Car class. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.246.160.197 (talk) 01:30, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

grind show

[edit]

I went to www.thegrindshow.tv because I'm actually interested in learning more about John Paul DeJoria, and that website appears to be a strange tribute to some young woman named Tara McCluskey complete with an embellished personal statement (she had also created a wikipedia page for herself which has since been deleted).

I removed the mention of the website from this article based on there being no real content (she actually borrows from wikipedia on her page about John Paul) but am adding this section in the discussion page because of this photo on Ms. McCluskey's myspace page that seems to have both of them in an interview style setting, professionally photographed.

The possibility exists that this show did film or that something was done in collaboration between the two of them at some point, so justification can be provided in this section if it does turn up.

In the mean time, any mentions of thegrindshowonline.tv in this article (or any others) should probably be treated as spam. There is very little content there, mostly consisting of professional photographs of Ms. McCluskey walking around outside, as well as a short clip from "The Billionaire Inside" CNBC special where she (as an audience member) asks Donald Trump a question. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.4.148.75 (talk) 14:07, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Much more about business needed

[edit]

The article doesn't explain his business success. And that's the most notable thing about him. 76.102.1.193 (talk) 09:28, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
