John Plimmer was born in Shropshire but did not emigrate to New Zealand from there - before sailing he had been working in Staffordshire, England, at his trade of plasterer and master builder for some years. I will be adding information on his background in due course. (I live in Shrewsbury area from which he came - see article in Te Ara NZ Encyclopaedia.Cloptonson (talk) 17:23, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
