Date of birth

[edit]

In most sources the year is 1867: Is there any proof for 1866 (which seems to have been taken - unchecked - from the French article)? --NobbyHH 09:52, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why has this article been tagged? I notice you have finally corrected his place of birth from Dublin to Rockcorry, Ireland, but have not corrected his place of death. Family members (and they are still around!) know that despite all published biographical material to the contrary (perhaps his obituary in the New York Times has it right) he did not die at his Cannondale Conn. home, but at his New York City residence, one Lexington Ave., Gramercy Park. (one of the family). --cut and pasted from main article —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.164.12.16 (talk) 19:59, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
