I working on this entry. Please don't delete it. Markisgreen 04:59, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

why the speedy deletion by user Matthew Yeager?

[edit]

How are new articles created if it only takes about 15 seconds for other users to suggest their deletion before they have even begun to be built upon. I just started writing this article because I was suprised Wikipedia didn't have an article about this frequently cited and well-known bible scholar and, after just a few seconds, there is already a warning on the page about it being deleted if it doesn't quickly indicate the importance of the subject of the author. Don't worry, this article will not be deleted, as Kloppenborg has written books and papers, and there are sources about him. Thanks for your initiative in helping to expand Wikipedia by adding missing articles, and keep up the good work. nadav

Name of article

[edit]

I was wondering if John S. Kloppenborg is the name by which he is most commonly known, or if the middle initial is unnecessary. You can read the guideline about his issue at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people)#Middle names - abbreviations of names. nadav 09:44, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure. I've seen his name most often with the S., but I've seen his name most often in citations to his publications. When I've read online discussions that he participated in, he seemed to be generally without the S, so maybe we should lose it. I'll leave it up to someone else to decide. I don't think it matters a lot.Markisgreen 01:26, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would also ask why his name appears sometimes as John S. Kloppenborg Verbin--Richardson mcphillips (talk) 21:10, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

deletion of articles and chapters

[edit]

There is no indication by the last editor as to why this information was deleted from the article. I think they are indicative of some of Kloppenborg's most important and influential work so I have restored them. Please discuss reasons for deletion prior to re-deleting the information. I don't want an edit war, but I would like to have this information in the article. --Markisgreen 20:52, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The general question of how to incorporate lists of works and whether there should be a size constraint is currently being hammered out at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (lists of works). Feel free to join the discussion. nadav (talk) 00:07, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
