Reasons for not deleting:

I would guess, but that's all, that his contribution to the one-time standard Medical Jurisprudence is what earns him a tiny place in history

The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography has him - ref now added

I think you will find there were few Commissioners of the Court of Bankruptcy at any one time and that they carried the same rank as a judge. Certainly a quick search within Wikipedia will show that it contains many other men who held the same post (in England) (who were probably more interesting).

Explanation for my apparently creating the article. His father's biography was in Wikipedia under the son's name! Father was moved to a new article and I filled in the bits about this man (to deal with any queries that might arise) on the remaining old page. Note that in the ODNB he is John Samuel Martin de Grenier Fonblanque. They joined in the then fashion for changing their names a bit during their lives which has added to the id confusion.

By the way, his great-grandfather Samuel Martin after whom he is named also appears in the ODNB (though a newish entry) and I have planned to add him to Wikipedia as a much more interesting man with an amazing collection of records held in the British Library - samples of which are (or were recently) on online display by that Library. At the moment that Samuel Martin is only mentioned in Wikipedia under his eldest son's article: Samuel Martin (Secretary to the Treasury).

No one will die-off if he is deleted but I do suggest re-consideration Eddaido (talk) 11:49, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
