Verification of facts[edit]
I have never seen any confirmation of whether John actually was born on August 2, 1968 in Baltimore. Could whoever put that info in the article cite their source(s)? Also, I have an asterisk for his attendance at the University of South Florida: I have seen a couple different schools listed, erroneously, I believe. In this Rox Magazine article [1] with Peter Mengede, it says that Stanier attended the University of Miami. Then in this Modern Drummer article [2] with Stanier himself, he says he went to the University of Florida (which is in Gainesville). But then he says it's the home of the Suncoast Sound drum corps, which is from Clearwater. Therefore, it seems likely that he actually went to the University of South Florida, which is also in the Tampa Bay area. If you know any differently, please let me know.
There are some big holes that I have no knowledge to fill in, like how he got from Baltimore to Florida, and then from Florida to New York. Did he graduate from college? There's also a general lack of dates; it would be nice to have more temporal info. Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

his sister is in opera and i could've sworn he said he spent time at FSU.

John went to the University of South Florida. I remember he got a scholorship. I think he was from Fort Lauderdale before that-can't remember for sure. He was also in a couple of hardcore bands in the local scene at that time.
