John Tanner Polygamy

[edit]

The wikipedia article mentions that John Tanner was a polygamist. According to the marriage records, it looks like this is an inaccurate statement. See https://www.josephsmithpapers.org/person/john-tanner2600:1700:47D0:8820:1933:D3FD:7977:C53D (talk) 19:11, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

John Tanner is, by definition, not a polygamist. According to the source provided, John did not marry multiple wives at the same time. DWgardner743 (talk) 23:27, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The current citation regarding the topic doesn't seem to be fully done, so I feel this should be inserted in place of the original statement or just have the original statement removed because this argument makes it redundant. DWgardner743 (talk) 23:29, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Addition of topics that may add to this article

[edit]

I believe that John Tanner did have canker sores on his left leg. Before he was baptized, he was talking with the missionaries. The same night, there was a miracle that happened right before John Tanner made the decision to be baptized when Jared Carter commanded him to "rise up and walk." Before his trek to Kirtland, Ohio as well, he was called by Joseph Smith to be a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, alongside Brigham Young and Sidney Rigden. I found a pretty solid source for these topics over on this website:

It might not cover everything listed but I'm sure you can find it useful. DWgardner743 (talk) 23:51, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
