Well done - he does seem to have been President in 1969 of an organisation that wasn't formed until 1971?? Victuallers (talk) 22:02, 30 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The BMS was formed in 1896. Are you confusing it with the International Mycological Association? Sasata (talk) 22:07, 30 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

3rd party images of British mycologists

[edit]

Following a request for images to the British Mycological Society, they have sent me a 2Mb picture of Prof Webster. I would welcome advice from those more experienced than me in uploading pictures supplied by third parties so as not to breach guidelines. The text of their email is reproduced below. Obviously, I only need to upload an image of sufficient resolution for use here, but don't want to fall foul of Wikimedia requirements, or the image-suppliers wishes.

I have the photo the BMS used for the online obituary from the 1996 BMS Centenary events, where Prof Webster was presented with the Ainsworth medal. I attach a copy of this for use on the wikipedia article. Please ensure the BMS is accredited as the source of the photograph. I will forward your email on for further consideration by the BMS Council at their next meeting at the start of October and in the meantime, I will look at what images we hold for the individuals you list below (Hawksworth, Ingold & Ainsworth), and other past and present luminaries of the BMS. (sent from NP, Administrator BMS Office, 1 September 2015.)

All advice welcomed.Parkywiki (talk) 20:54, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
