This article is just straight lifted from the Catholic Encyclopedia. Someone should change that. --66.69.158.47 21:40, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The copyright notice on the bottom of the web version of that article states 'The Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume VIII Copyright © 1910 by Robert Appleton Company' so it is out of copyright. JMiall 22:47, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is it just me or shoudl deacon in the section headings begin with a capital letter?

Unless there are objections, I intend to move these figures to pages of their own, turn this into a disambiguation page, and fix all the links. Srnec 18:38, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Made a start with John, canon of the Lateran and John, deacon of Venice, but ran out of time. Will try to finish up later. ::Supergolden:: 18:06, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I moved them all to titles that include "John the Deacon", the name by which each of them is known (except the Roman one, since he already possesses an un-clumsy unambiguous name). Srnec (talk) 05:23, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
