Copy Vio Update

[edit]

Its been copied from here. http://www.answers.com/topic/johnstone. I thought it was just the history, i.e. feudal part which has been copied, but appears the whole article has been lifted en masse. I've started to update the artcile, done the transport, and main intro, moved a couple of sections etc. It really needs a fair amout of work to get it right. scope_creep (talk) 22:14, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Er, that's a mirror of Wikipedia, not vice-versa. --Breadandcheese (talk) 23:19, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copy vio?

[edit]

Some of this text reads like it may have been lifted from elsewhere. Can anyone confirm that it is original work? Badgerpatrol 11:22, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Response

[edit]

I have removed some extra text and cleaned up some gamma. More to be done on this page. Scot24 19/01/2008

George Reid

[edit]

All wording about George Reid has been removed. An article about John Reid already exists and the wording is not relevant to Johnstone as it talks about Australia. Scot24 19/01/2008

Another native of Johnstone

[edit]

James Braidwood, for whom Braidwood, Illinois is named. A sketch of his life by one of his descendants is available at this external page. He was a mining engineer of some accomplishment, and later became a minor industrialist. Regards, Notuncurious (talk) 16:41, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
