Regarding the request, I'm looking over the career section. WikiRoxor talk 17:29, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That was on the page for less then a minute, and it was removed almost forty minutes before you posted this. Maybe your cache needs refreshed.[1]Satori Son 01:47, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Film credit / Farris Buellar's Day Off

[edit]
On Oct. 23rd, 2011 I watched a "Killer Comebacks" episode on Television with Jon Cryier as the topic of Comebacks.

It was said that he was the Farris in Farris Buellar. Did I not pay attention ....? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.225.131.10 (talk) 17:01, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Really?

[edit]

This article states: "shut down due to a heart attack by director Martin Ritt" This is a curious way of saying, presumably, that the director had a heart attack which resulted in the show being shut down. As written, it almost sounds like the director created the heart attack as opposed to being afflicted by one - perhaps a better phrasing would be "shut down after director Martin Ritt suffered a heart attack" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:801:4280:A710:E88A:1673:8B5C:99AD (talk) 14:47, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Jon Cryer and John McCain

[edit]

An IP editor insists on having the article state that Cyrer endorsed John McCain when, in fact, his spokesperson said “Jon is not a Republican...in 2008 he attended events for both parties. It seems the Republican Party was very quick to align him with their group of supporters. He did attend events for both parties, because he wanted to hear what both sides had to say. He’s not really political.” This means the claim he endorsed McCain is erroneous. Vale of Glamorgan (talk) 18:27, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Though his agent said he was not a republican she never denied that he supported John McCain also to my knowledge and searches he never attended any fundraisers for any other candidate; I believe the agents unfounded statements were political spin of already established fact that she never expressly denied (That Cryer suppirted McCain) as an enclyopedia we need to report facts and not allow a spinmeister to rewrite history. So I apologize and mean no offense but unless new information is brought to my attention I will be restoring the page to accurately reflect the sourced materials in the manner as I have done previously. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.79.39.105 (talk) 22:16, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

She said that the claims he endorsed McCain were a "mistake". At the very least there's room for doubt given that we're interpreting the same information differently. I think the way it's written now is accurate while an unqualified assertion that he endorsed McCain is not. Vale of Glamorgan (talk) 22:27, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

She never expressly said he did not endorse McCain but you make a point about room for doubt so I edited by saying that most news reports say Cryer endorsed McCain which they did in the spirit of compromise even though it is probably innaccurate since where putting to much store in a single unclear quote not even from Mr. Cryer74.79.39.105 (talk) 23:01, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I reworded it slightly since the doubts are not whether or not McCain attended the campaign event, that isn't in dispute, but whether or not he also endorsed McCain. His spokesperson suggests that the McCain campaign assumed an endorsement where there wasn't one. Vale of Glamorgan (talk) 23:21, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

His agent did not say the McCain campaign but the Republican party was quick to identify him as a Republican, regardless your right my wording before was unclear however the new wording though more accurate sounded for lack of a better word choppy so I reworded not to be petty but for better flow anyway check it out see how you like it74.79.39.105 (talk) 02:14, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your wording makes it sounds like she's disputing whether or not he attended the fundraiser and yes, if you read the source it does appear that she's disputing the reports that he endorsed. Vale of Glamorgan (talk) 03:13, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I read the source and all the agent did was dispute that Mr. Cryer was a Republican not that He endorse John McCain I think your reading to much into that quote that is not there. Cotton Rogers (talk) 11:49, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

At best it's ambiguous. Anyway, I'm fine with your version. Vale of Glamorgan (talk) 11:57, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

After a rewrite/quote reduction per WP:NOTNEWS, I checked the cited source and this talk section and, well, no offense, Emily Goodin, but holy fuck! I hope I've managed a reasonable interpretation within WP:BLP. ATinySliver/ATalkPage 05:41, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Currently

[edit]

I encourage SOMEONE at Wikipedia to do a search of ALL English language pages and remove this risible word. This article states Cryer is "currently" in NCIS treating the MC, problem is Mark Harmon is NOT A CURRENT cast member. I suggest that if you think writing "currently" in a Wiki article is appropriate, you think again. I have no idea when (or if) Cryer had a role in NCIS, but, if so, it needs a date. Who knew.71.31.145.237 (talk) 19:26, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
