Plebgate[edit]

Jon Gaunt was the PR man who travelled with Sergeant Chris Jones from West Midlands Police Federation, Detective Sergeant Stuart Hinton from Warwickshire Police Federation and Inspector Ken MacKaill from West Mercia Police Federation to their meeting with Andrew Mitchell on 12th October 2012. He is reported to have told the 3 officers to end the meeting in time for the 6pm news.

He had also previously tweeted that the fate of Andrew Mitchell would be decided at the meeting.

James Whale[edit]

He often says he 'learnt everything from James Whale' - myabe it should be cited here? (as it kinda relevant.

Sony Awards[edit]

Is it right to say he was awarded three awards, when in actual fact there was only one awarded to "Jon Gaunt" ? The other two, were won by the show he presented, and so it could be said were won by a team. Maybe "He was awarded the News Broadcaster Award" and was part of the team which won the "Breakfast news & talk" and the "News Coverage" awards.

Has Jon been consulted over this page?[edit]

Jon on SkyNews[edit]

I do not know if circumstances have changed since he was sacked by Talksport, but before that incident he was a regular guest on skynews morning show, to review the papers (or at least the sections without very long words in). If he is still going to appear on the show in the future, perhaps a small paragraph could be added to include that as a similiar comment is made about regular appearances on the Alan Titchmarsh show. BBC London 94.9[edit]

Gaunt had a phone-in talk show on BBC London 94.9 sometime around 2005, ending in the later part of 2005. If anybody has any details and references it give a more complete description of his career.--TGC55 (talk) 12:05, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Joke / Sarcasm[edit]

The passage "Gaunt's BBC Three Counties show was awarded three Sony Radio Academy Gold Award in 2001, which is approximately three more than all of Talksport's presenters put together.[4]" is clearly a jokey swipe at TalkSport and should be removed or at least reworded? 82.132.210.138 (talk) 08:09, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gaunt describes himself as a "working-class, educated guy with, in broad strokes, a rightwing agenda".[1] He appears every Wednesday as a newspaper reviewer on Sky News Sunrise. He also appears as a contributor to television programmes such as Question Time, Countdown, Daily Politics and BBC News. On radio, Gaunt is a regular contributor on BBC Radio 2's The Jeremy Vine Show.

This whole paragraph is out of date and is no longer true. He does not appear on any of the shows below. He does however appear on RT now and then.
