Peacock terms?

[edit]

Re: this edit, how does a direct quote from the office of the vice president of the U.S. qualify as the use of "peacock terms"? As I understand it, it is quite common to establish someone's notability in a field by using a quotation in the lede in which their importance/prominence is remarked by an authority in the field. The "peacock terms" issue is normally when such remarks are made without citation in the voice of the article itself. - Jmabel | Talk 00:55, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The quote -- "a globally recognized expert on nuclear security and nonproliferation" -- actually isn't present anywhere in the given source[1], so the issue is really WP:V. Plot Spoiler (talk) 00:58, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And if a quote along that lines is found, it should come from a neutral source, and not a promotional bio or press release. Plot Spoiler (talk) 01:01, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The only problem was that the correct source was not cited immediately after the quotation. I have corrected this. Yworo (talk) 01:11, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
