This is a CV dump. Is that allowed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.110.11.79 (talk) 18:00, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Jonathan Ned Katz comments. Someone started this entry for me and I decided to fill it out to see what happened. I would like this to be an objective narrative of my work and life, and the fullest list available anywhere of my works and the life that made them possible.

This is an online encyclopedia, NOT a traditional biographical entry in a printed encyclopedia, therefore it does not have the same space limitations. It is very useful for scholars and anyone interested to have available as complete a list as possible of a scholar's works. That is what I have done on the entry for Allan Berube. So if you are going to delete portions of my works listed, you should also delete the full list of Berube's works. But I don't think you should do either.

So I ask the person who deleted a major part of the list of my works to put that list back. Thanks. Jonathan —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jnkatz1 (talkcontribs) 20:21, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Rewrite/cleanup needed

I did some minor copy editing to improve the style and tone of the article, and removed obvious promotional content; however, the content and lack of sources are still issues. The lead needs to be rewritten to convey Katz's notability, the rest of the article reads like a résumé, and it currently has one cited source.

I invite User:Jnkatz1 to discuss the article here. I or other editors can then incorporate suggestions into the article. momoricks (make my day) 00:41, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Jonathan Ned Katz responds:

The most complete list of my works is available on OutHistory.org at:

http://www.outhistory.org/wiki/Jonathan_Ned_Katz:_February_2%2C_1938-present

I would suggest adding ism more detail about his early life so we could have more of motive for his adult life Artistryanthony (talk) 05:28, 11 February 2017 (UTC)

Possible source

I found this source on the New York Public Library website, which contains biographical and career information, and requested permission to use it in April but have not received a reply. I'm only able to edit off and on right now, so I'll post it here in case another editor has the time to work on the article. momoricks 06:34, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Maybe I'm a little confused, but I'm not sure why we'd ask a person for permission to use publicly-available material from what looks like a reasonably reliable source. I usually avoid BLP articles, but I just remember a time when a person wanted his picture to be deleted but people considered that to not matter. Dreamyshade (talk) 18:21, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Good point. momoricks 02:43, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

I am planning on adding some source material based on Katz autobigraphical information from his website [1] and also including information from his novel 'The invention of Heterosexuality"[2]Artistryanthony (talk) 17:23, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

References

Out of date reference to Katz's art website

The reference to Katz's Google art website is out of date and needs to be changed to the URL of his new art website.

http://www.jonathannedkatzart.com/JonathanNedKatzArt.com/Welcome.html

I don't know how to make that change in the reflist.

The Link to Jonathan's website is still broken it should be updated to his current one stated above http://www.jonathannedkatzart.com/JonathanNedKatzArt.com/Welcome.html Artistryanthony (talk) 03:09, 11 February 2017 (UTC)

MISTAKE

Done There's a mistake in the "References" section. The link to my Google art website is out of date. The link should be changed to my new website at:

http://www.jonathannedkatzart.com/JonathanNedKatzArt.com/Welcome.html

I don't know how to change this Reflist reference.

Please let me know that this change was made. Jonathan Ned Katz —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jnkatz1 (talkcontribs) 15:33, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Stub?

At the bottom of this entry on me it says:

This biography of an American historian is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it.

A complete list of my works is included on OutHistory.org, if anyone wants to write a fuller biography. Jonathan Ned Katz, jnk123@mac.com

FYI, I once put a much more complete list on Wikipedia, but it was deleted because I was assumed to be an unreliable source. That is not true. Jonathan —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jnkatz1 (talkcontribs) 14:44, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
