Untitled[edit]

Jack Babashoff won the silver medal in the 100 meter freestyle in Montreal, not Joe Bottom who was sixth. However, I'm reluctant to replace Joe's name with Jack's because the phrase "beating home the Olympic champion and Joe Bottom who won silver in Montreal" is awkward given that neither Olympic champion nor Jack Babashoff were at the meet in Philadelphia -- that whole sentence needs improvement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.101.156.68 (talk) 07:56, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Matriculated from?[edit]

To matriculate means to be enrolled at a college or university. You don't matriculate "from" something. Its incorrect use here makes the intended meaning unclear. Did he enrol at Selborne College but not graduate? Or is the term "matriculated from" being used incorrectly in place of "graduated from?" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.61.82.35 (talk) 19:40, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
