Doping

[edit]

I'm removing the Doping category tags as the wiki has no evidence of him ever being involved in doping. If you can add it to the wiki and provide links then by all means reinstate them. brob (talk) 00:57, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Zoetemelk is the only cyclist who tested positive in the Tour the France three times. Although if I remember correctly, the last positive test was retracted later. This info should be in the article, although it should not dominate the article: Zoetemelk is known for his Tour win, not for his doping offences. Anyone who has the time can put the information in the article and the doping links and category back in. --EdgeNavidad (talk) 15:19, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Number of participation in Tour de France

[edit]

The fact that he is the rider with the most participations in the Tour de France is not up to date. As far as I know currently Jens Voigt, Stuart O'Grady and George Hincapie all have participated 17 times, while Joop Zoetemelk stands at 16. I don't really know if http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/racing/tour-de-france/jens-voigt-match-tour-de-france-participation-record-128340 or http://de.statista.com/statistik/daten/studie/156941/umfrage/fahrer-der-tour-de-france-mit-den-meisten-tour-teilnahmen/ (german source) are legit sources for wikipedia. Could someone edit the article? I would do it myself, but my English is not good enough for this.
