Jordon or Jordan?

[edit]

The WWFC page has it as both, randomly interchange MrMarmite (talk) 17:16, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The WWFC Media team has just announced on its live commentary that it is spelled 'Jordon', contrary to the spelling that had been used by virtually all media (including WWFC themselves) prior to day. Unfortunately I don't know how to rename wiki pages! 31.185.177.21 (talk) 16:00, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New Image

[edit]

Can someone upload a new picture for this page. The current picture is different compared to his current physical stature and club.--Sammanhumagain (talk) 03:11, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jamaican?=

[edit]

Bumbacluts is he really Nigerian? where is the source? I thought he was Jamaican. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.215.152 (talk) 11:43, 27 March 2015 (UTC) His dad is Nigerian, he's been approached by their international team but appears to prefer to play for England. No idea of his mum's ancestry or ethnicity though, so he could also be eligible for Jamaica.--MartinUK (talk) 12:09, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Establishing Jordon Ibe's real playing position

[edit]

Both the FA, Premier League, Liverpool, ESPN and UEFA recognise Ibe as a midfielder on their respective websites, with the exception of Eurosport that have listed Ibe under their section entitled "attack", which falls outside the midfielder spectrum for Eurosport. Liverpool however have twice mentioned Ibe's winger role, see (http://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team/player/jordon-ibe) for more details, but first here's a snippet taken from Jordon Ibe's LFC profile - "The talented youngster, who can play up front or out on the wing started his Anfield career at the Academy and began life at Liverpool with the U18 squad". In additional to this piece of information, there is also another mention of his abilities as a wide player - "The Bermondsey-born wide-man possesses a combination of phenomenal speed and powerful upper-body strength, with his growth earning a place in the first-team squad that travelled to North America on pre-season tour in 2012". --Kő Cloch (talk) 11:55, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

In light of this new information, or simply information that has just been overlooked ... I have decided to officially listed Ibe's playing position as midfielder, however I've tweaked the lead or introduction to read as midfielder. In doing so, I have created a link to the midfielder page with a straightforward scroll down to the subsection (Wide midfielder). --Kő Cloch (talk) 12:20, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what you mean by "officially" list his playing position as midfielder..... In the infobox, we list a player's most common playing position, and then discuss details and variations in the body of the prose with reference to reliable sources. We don't have to be as generic as database listings do: e.g. if a player generally plays at right back, then that's what we put in the infobox, where a database might list defender or fullback. Personally, I'd have thought his "most common" position was probably winger or wide midfielder, rather than plain midfielder, and I'd expect the lead to contain much the same as the infobox. But if you think wide midfielder is the correct section to link to in the lead, then you need to let the reader read "wide midfielder": so that they have enough information a) to get an idea of Mr Ibe's position without clicking any links, and b) to decide whether they want to click the link or not. First name spelling

[edit]

Just want to clear up a slight problem when I've just noticed when I made an edit to the article on 15 April. I've changed it to 'Jordon', which I thought they were typos, this is not apparently the correct titles, the correct way would be 'Jordan' - see this and that. I do apologise for it, and since it was my mistake, I will revert it back to the correct spelling of the titles listed on the sources. Thank you, Iggy (Swan) 18:43, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
