Deletion[edit]

I disagree with deletion. If this fellow's actions aren't notable, what about the other 15 Australian serial murderers? 69.131.192.51 (talk) 01:41, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Schwab created national headlines during his spree and has been the subject of ongoing media attention since, including at least one documentary ("The Kimberly Killer") made based on his actions. He therefore meets the criteria required for inclusion in WP. 121.218.202.99 (talk) 13:58, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CallMeHenry (talk) This is an interesting case that I remember well. It deserves far better treatment. I've started by adding a few details - not the least of them the victim's names. Maybe others can flesh it out further. Also, killing five people does not make Schwab a serial murderer, a term bandied about nowadays but which applies to a far different kind of killer when you think about it. —Preceding comment was added at 14:57, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

With regard to Schwab's notability, a good way to establish it is to expand the article with as much information as possible, and make sure that all info is properly sourced. If someone could get a copy of the Crime Investigation Australia episode, that could be used as a source. Also, I found this Kimberley Echo article, which may contain more information.
As CallMeHenry mentioned above, the definition and use of serial killer and serial murder differ from source to source. For the sake of consistency and an attempt at accuracy, I generally go by Wikipedia's definitions of serial killer, mass murder, and spree killer, as well as what term the majority of reliable sources use. In Schwab's case, the few reliable sources I can find online don't definitively identify him as any of the three terms; therefore, I replaced the "German serial killer" category with "German murderers". I'll look for an infobox to replace {{Infobox Serial Killer}}. momoricks 03:17, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dates are wrong[edit]

Dates are wrong. At least the Crime Investigation Australia described that there were at least 5 days between the last killings and death of mr. Schwab. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.243.146.87 (talk) 20:45, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite/sources[edit]

I rewrote the article because a good portion of it was copied/pasted from the PerthNow site. Some of the information was not provide in the cited sources or any other online source, so I removed it or added a {{fact}} tag. I presume the names are provided in the Crime Investigation Australia episode. A fairly extensive online search found only a handful of reliable sources, most of which have the same information as PerthNow. To expand the article, someone will probably need to watch the CIA episode or access a copy of The Australian Book of True Crime, which apparently has a section on the Kimberley Killer. momoricks 09:45, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
