Some suggestions

[edit]

I have reviewed this article and believe it to be a Start class article. It is very close to a B class, though, (it only needs a couple more citations as per my comments below). If these could be added, I'd be happy to assess as a B class. The other comments below are just suggestions, but they don't affect B class.

  • according to the Featured article tool, there are a couple of disambig links that should be fixed, they can be viewed here: [1];
  • try to add more wikilinks to the text, the lead for example only has one currently;
  • the date format is currently incorrect per Wikipedia:MOSDATE#Dates (i.e. ordinal suffixes shouldn't be used);
  • per WP:PAIC citations should be outside of punctuation (I think I've fixed most of these myself);
  • per WP:MOSQUOTE quotation marks should be straight, not curly. Some places you have curly quotation marks are: Battle of Quiberon Bay, West Indies and Convoy Duty sections;
  • the last part of the third paragraph of the Battle of Saint Cast needs a citation (paragraph beginning with "Initially the expedition met with considerable");
  • the last paragraph of the Battle of Saint Cast section needs a citation (paragraph "With the huge loss of life and military equipment, the battle ended British hopes of an invasion of Brittany during the Seven Year's War. The battle was an embarrassment for both the British Army and Navy");
  • the last paragraph of the Battle of Ushant section needs a citation;
  • the last sentence in the Rodney and Battle of Martinique section needs a citation;
  • sames as above for last part of Commander-in-Chief Jamaica section;
  • the Family section needs more citations and probably could be formatted a bit better. Currently it looks like a list, but could it be written in prose form?
  • there is a Citations section, but no References section. I suggest adding a References section where you can include the full bibliographic details of the cited works. For examples, please see WP:LAYOUT.

Anyway, that is it from me. Good work so far. — AustralianRupert (talk) 11:26, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
