  1. Find information about the tagline and theme song, with reliable sources.
There was no tagline or theme song. –LAX 19:48, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Oh, alright. iMatthew 2008 19:51, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Find information about the buyrate, and a reliable source.
The buyrate should go in the aftermath. –LAX 19:48, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Ok, you're right. iMatthew 2008 19:51, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  3. The main event was an "I Quit" match for the WWE Championship between John Cena and John "Bradshaw" Layfield, which Cena won after Layfield quit as Cena was about to hit him with a large exhaust pipe - the sentence should end after which Cena won after Layfield, the rest are match notes and are included in the event section.
    LAX 19:48, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Wiki-link predominant and undercard.
Card is linked to undercard, and there is no reason to link predominant. –LAX 19:48, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    I didn't see that, ok. iMatthew 2008 19:51, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Background[edit]

  1. Every single date needs to be wiki-linked, and followed by a year. For example, it should be April 7, 2005 - and not just - April 7
It doesn't need to be followed by a year, per MOS:NUM#Full date formatting. –LAX 19:55, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
A comment from Brian Kendrick's pre-GA reviewer said Dates without years – this is Wikipedia and thus very likely that it’ll be here in 2009-10 etc. so a date like “February 19” by itself isn’t good (the Feb 19 example isn’t even from 2008 it’s from his second independent circuit section) – all dates should have years with them to make them “future safe”. I don't know, maybe he was wrong. The review is found on the talk page. iMatthew 2008 20:04, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would rather go by MoS then a reviewer. –LAX 20:07, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As would I, I was just letting you know where that came from. iMatthew 2008 20:10, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Number One contender should be wiki-linked.
    To what? –LAX 20:08, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    I don't know, but something should be found. iMatthew 2008 20:10, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    LAX 00:01, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Both lock up and Haas rolled Nitro over quickly. - Is there any way to avoid starting the sentence with both? Also, IMO, saying quickly seems like a personal opinion.

    LAX 00:01, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  6. Carlito gaining the successful pinfall. gaining --> gained.
    LAX 00:01, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  7. Reword these two sentences Back and fourth action saw London and Chavo take the advantage over one another. One moment saw London up on the top rope and charging towards Chavo and leapfrogging over and kicked Chavo backwards into a corner. the word "saw" doesn't need to be used in every sentence.
    LAX 00:01, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  2. Jericho's actions led to him turning on Cena, after defeating Christian and Tyson Tomko in a tag team match and Bischoff booking a Triple Threat match involving Christian, Jericho and Cena for the WWE Championship at Vengeance. needs to be either broken into two sentences, re-worded, or shortened.
    I think I got it. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 16:44, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    I think I got it. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 16:47, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Almost, after the WWE Championship was now part of the RAW brand. needs to be re-worded. iMatthew 2008 18:59, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  4. On the July 7 edition of SmackDown!, Batista would defend the World Heavyweight Championship at The Great American Bash against JBL. -- lol, that makes no sense whatsoever.-
    Again. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 16:47, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Got it. iMatthew 2008 18:59, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  5. After their last meeting at WrestleMania 21, in which Angle won after he made Michaels submit to the Ankle lock is not a complete sentence and makes no sense. What happened after their last meeting?
Does it make sense? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:21, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    No, I don't even get what it's trying to say. iMatthew 2008 18:59, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Now? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 02:23, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, it still says After their last meeting at WrestleMania, during an interpromotional match, in which Angle won. That makes no sense. It makes no point as to what happened after their last meeting at WrestleMania. iMatthew 2008 10:38, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, how 'bout now? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:32, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. iMatthew 2008 19:56, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. As a result, Michaels went onto challenge Angle to a rematch from their WrestleMania bout at Vengeance, in which Angle accepted. can be re-worded to as a result of what? Also, re-word the sentence, its too confusing..their WrestleMania bout at Vengeance makes it seem like they had a WrestleMania match during Vengeance....
    Again. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 16:49, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, it still says from their WrestleMania bout at Vengeance which makes is sound like they have a WrestleMania bout at Vengeance. iMatthew 2008 18:59, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Now? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 02:23, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Yes. iMatthew 2008 10:38, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  2. At Vengeance, Michaels defeated Angle after he performed Sweet Chin Music and gaining the win over Angle. Michaels defeated Angle...gaining the win over Angle. You say Michaels won the match twice in the same sentence. Remove "and gaining the win over Angle"
    --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:14, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Expand the last paragraph. What happened after it was revealed that Eddie was Dominick's father?
Wouldn't that have to be explained at the GAB article? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 23:19, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It should be explained here as well, since it's mentioned. It doesn't have to be in detail, just say what happened, briefly. iMatthew 2008 18:59, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Now? –LAX 13:18, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also two references do not work, currently #11 and 12. Also, do a google search or something, and look for more sources, if possible; about anything, mainly the results. iMatthew 2008 00:23, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

11 works fine. I ended up replacing 12. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 01:01, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've completed the aftermath. iMatthew 2008 12:18, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations, the article has been promoted. Speed CG Talk 16:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC) [reply]

What?[edit]

"Seven professional wrestling matches were scheduled on the event's card beforehand. These matches were planned with predetermined outcomes by WWE's creative staff and featured wrestlers playing a character for the entertainment of the audience. The buildup to these matches and the scenarios that took place before, during, and after the event were also planned by WWE's script writers. The event featured wrestlers and other talent from WWE's brand, a storyline expansion of the promotion where employees are assigned to wrestling brands under the WWE banner.[2] Wrestlers portrayed either a villainous or fan favorite gimmick, as they followed a series of events which generally built tension, leading to a wrestling match. The name of a wrestler's character was not always the person's birth name, as wrestlers often used a stage name to portray their character."

I guess this is necessary, if the reader weren't familiar with wrestling at all, hadn't read any other general articles about wrestling on Wikipedia, or had a learning disability.

This is not a general interest wrestling article, in that it covers a very specific event that the un-initiated are unlikely to find important, and its subject and content should expect that the reader has at least some knowledge of wrestling. --Pathogen (talk) 05:32, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You got a lot to catch up on. Recently, PW decided to take wrestling articles "out-of-universe", so that we can expand articles to Feature Article status. If you have "concerns" about this, go here. Note: If removal of the new entry into the article, the user will be warned for removing the newly added info. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:18, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Featured article[edit]

Any chance that this could be considered as a FA? Superslammin (talk) 23:40, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've asked for some feedback. From that, I'll nominate the article to FA. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 22:58, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback prior to FA nomination[edit]

  • "which was marked to be an entertaining pay-per-view to watch" in the "Reception" section is confusing. Perhaps a different verb than "marked"?
  • The end of the first paragraph of the "Aftermath" section: "At Vengeance, Cena successfully retained the WWE Championship." -- "successfully" isn't needed, as it's implied in "retained".
  • This is a very confusing sentence: "The match came to an end when Booker was able to reverse an Angle slam attempt, a move in which Angle tried slamming Booker down by spinning him and lifting him to a 90°, into a small package, a pinning maneuver in which the opponent falls backwards while turning, which the opponent hooks the far leg with their legs and the opponent's other leg with their free arm, ending up on top of the opponent, pinning their shoulders against the mat."

I'll try to look over the rest soon, but these stood out during a quick glance over the article. GaryColemanFan (talk) 23:03, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Gary for taking the time to go over the article and will be waiting for more comments. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 14:37, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wrestlinglover's review of Judgment Day (2005)[edit]

Okay, here you go Thinkblue. I said I was going to do it so I always try to do what I said. This time I've succeeded but many times in the past I haven't. I guess you were lucky if you want to look at it that way.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Lead
    • I do not like this sentence: "The event received 220,000 pay-per-view buys, the lowest amount as the following year's event.". It is awkward to me. I understand it but can't it be stated a nicer or prettier way. "The event marked out at 220,000 pay-per-view buys, this was lower than the previous year's event." Something like that. Well mainly just the second part needs to be changed, I'm fine with "The event received 220,000 pay-per-view buys,".--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Billboard needs to be linked to Billboard (magazine). No telling how many people have placed the wrong link.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Background
    • "Seven professional wrestling matches were scheduled on the event's card beforehand." - Why is beforehand at the end? I do not believe that is really needed.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • "The event featured wrestlers and other talent from WWE's brand," - You do not continue to tell what brand it was apart of.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • In my opinion, Eddie (never can spell his last name) should have his name in parenthesis since his last name is Llanes.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • No, see SummerSlam '03, Bash '05, and No Mercy '05. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:24, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • Hey, I just believe it should be even though those have it different. Don't they also have Booker T's name as Booker Huffman when his article says otherwise. The same for Christian. It think we should go by the names in the articles.
    • Booker T's real name is Robert. It needs to be changed from Booker to Robert.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • "The second main feud heading into the event was between Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero." "Feud" should be linked or changed to Staged Rivalry.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • "This angle saw Guerrero turn into a villain." - Link "angle" or remove it.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • "On an episode of SmackDown!, Angle, Booker, Big Show and JBL took part in a Fatal Four-Way match to determine the number one contender to the WWE championship" - Change "Fatal Four Way" to "a standard wrestling match involving four competitors."--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • No need, its already explained the paragraph above. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 17:42, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • Okay, I must not have noticed that earlier.
    • Booker T is not a very long name so everywhere his name is mentioned as Booker should be changed to Booker T.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Shamell should have "-Huffman" added on to her real name.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Okay as stupid as this sounds for me to say but perverted sex, private parts and anything else Angle said that made WWE make him look like a retard should be linked. I'm guessing perverted sex should be linked to S&M or something along those lines (oh I need to quit reading articles on here for fun, just joking, I watch Springer, that is why I know what they should probably be linked too).--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • When I was writing the article, this all that came to me; I didn't know "how" to write that feud out, but I just went with what people might understand. What do you suggest? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 17:42, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • Not sure, I'll get back to you on that. I'm finishing my school work for the day so after that is done I'll think more about it.--WillC 22:24, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Event
    • "Before the event aired live on pay-per-view, Nunzio (James Maritato) defeated Akio (James Yun) in a match that aired on Sunday Night Heat." - I was told in Lockdown's peer review that the first sentence in the event section should always have the name of the event in it. Like "Before Judgment Day aired live".--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • Its mentioned. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 17:42, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • Where? It still says Event. I'm just going by what a FA reviewer in Lockdown's peer review told me.--WillC 22:24, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
          • Oh, I thought you meant the match that aired before JD. Have mentioned. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:24, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
            • That is good.--WillC 22:24, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • Preliminary matches
    • Hardcore Holly's real name is Robert Howard. You have Bob holly.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • "a move MNM call the Snapshot." to "a move MNM called the Snapshot."--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • change "Big Show lost the upper hand when Carlito hit a low blow on Big Show." to "Big Show lost the upper hand when Carlito hit a low blow to his groin area."--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • Main event matches
    • Dropkick speaks for itself. It doesn't need to be explained.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • Not that many people know what a dropkick is. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 16:40, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • I feel it is common enough that a link will do. I had no complaints in Lockdown's three GA reviews and peer review about it.
  • Aftermath
    • Maybe you should place the following at the top of this section {{further|[[Vengeance (2005)]]}}, {{further|[[The Great American Bash (2005)]]}}, and {{further|2005 WWE Draft Lottery]]}}.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • No, that would make the section very strange. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 17:42, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • Okay, that is just what I would do.--WillC 22:24, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Christian's real name is William, not Jason.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • change - "because a title never changes hands by count out or disqualification." to "because a title never changes hands by count out or disqualification in the WWE."--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • "At WrestleMania 21, Angle got the win over Michaels by forcing him to submit to an ankle lock." to "At WrestleMania 21, Angle got the win over Michaels by forcing him to submit to an ankle lock submission hold."--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Ladder match might need to be explained but that is your choice.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • Reception
    • "The event resulted in 220,000 pay-per-view buys, which was less than that of the following year's event" - same as in the lead.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • How does it look? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 17:42, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • Better, but maybe you should compare to 2004 JD. You have 06 which to makes no sense. It would be better to compare to 04 than 06.
          • I disagree, that wouldn't make sense to compare 05 JD with 04's JD. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:24, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
            • How does it make sense to compare to the 06. I just feel it would better because it shows improvement. If this was the first event in the category, then it would be alright to compare to next years. Like last year got a 7.0, this year got an 8.0. An improvement from the year before.--WillC 22:24, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Change "Canadian Online Explorers professional wrestling section rated the entire event a five out of 10 stars" to The Canadian Online Explorer's writer Chris Sokol rated the entire event a five out of 10 stars."--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Billboard is linked wrong here as well.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, everything else is fine to me. Anything else will get picked up on at the FA review. Just minor things that are nothing to worry about if there are any. It is 3 am here, which is the only time I have time to do crap. Oh hell I need a girl. lol But anyway what I've mentioned is all that bothered me at this time. After it goes up for an FA review I'll read it one more time before anyone starts to review it. Good luck.--WillC 07:34, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Aftermath that talks about the Guerrero/Mysterio Feud is incorrect.[edit]

Summerslam 2005 did not end their near year long feud, because on an episode of Smackdown they had a Steel Cage Match; in which Guerrero finally defeated Rey Mysterio....look at Guerrero's mainpage or WWE Offical Website —Preceding unsigned comment added by Flakitox3 (talkcontribs) 14:41, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
