"Analog"

[edit]

The second sentence of the lede states that Esser-Mittag improved "the analog style tampon". Is this really the correct terminology, and if so what on earth does it mean? The rest of the article says that she helped develop the digital tampon, i.e. one that "can be applied using one's digits, or fingers", as opposed to with an applicator; and this is also the term used in the tampon article and elsewhere. The "analog"/"digital" dichotomy found in computer technology etc means something quite different, and is completely irrelevant here. I suspected vandalism, but I see "analog" has been in the article since its creation in 2014, and the original creator doesn't appear to have been a vandal (though I suspect chunks may have been copypasted). Am I missing something? Eric Pode lives (talk) 20:59, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No informed responses: I'm going to change the word to "digital". Eric Pode lives (talk) 23:37, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
