Hello! As the official Walmart representative on Wikipedia, I have possible updates for this article. Like my colleague before me, I am limiting myself to Talk pages because of my conflict of interest. I ask editors to consider the following:

Introduction/infobox

• The article says Judith McKenna was born in 1966/1967. According to BBC Radio 4, McKenna was born in 1966 in Middlesbrough. Can editors update the infobox and introduction with this information?

Career

• This sentence says Judith McKenna was promoted, but it does not identify her previous role as Asda's CFO: "McKenna was promoted to chief operating officer (COO) of Asda in July 2011." I propose rewriting that sentence:
  • McKenna served as chief financial officer at Asda before being promoted to chief operating officer (COO) in July 2011.
• Can editors fix the typo in the last sentence of Career? "Thast" should be "that".

Requesting additional updates

Hello! As the official Walmart representative on Wikipedia, I have created an updated draft of this article. Like my colleague before me, I am limiting myself to Talk pages because of my conflict of interest. I ask editors to consider the following draft in my user space.

Since this article is a stub, I have researched and put together a few updates that you'll see in my draft, which I pulled out here. I have tried hard to ensure that the content I'm proposing is presented as encyclopedic, neutral, and verified by third-party sourcing:

1. I fixed an inaccuracy in the infobox (it says McKenna became CEO of Walmart International in January 2018. It was in fact February 2018)
2. I broke the current introduction into separate sentences, and added Judith McKenna's other high-profile roles at Walmart U.S. and Asda
3. I removed trivial information about non-notable family members from Early life
4. I clarified the wording regarding her law degree at University of Hull
5. I added a sentence about her qualifying as a chartered accountant with KPMG
6. I updated Career to include her roles at Walmart International and Walmart U.S., several initiatives attributed to her in independent sources, and recognition by Fortune's list of 50 Most Powerful Women from 2015 through 2018

Article updates

Hello editors! I'm back again with a few small requests. I'd like to suggest a few updates to the Career section. I think these updates are well-sourced and help provide additional context around McKenna's work with Walmart International. Here goes:

• First, I suggest changing the sentence "McKenna undertook initiatives to improve store associates' workplace, including efforts to clean stores, relax the dress code, and reinstituting Walmart Radio." to "McKenna undertook initiatives to improve working conditions for associates, including efforts to clean stores, relax the dress code, and reinstituting Walmart Radio."
  • I think this change helps the sentence read more clearly.
• Second, I suggest adding the following sentence immediately after the one from the first bullet point: "She also developed training academies for associates, which includes digital learning tools and ongoing education opportunities. McKenna said more than 500,000 associates went through the academy program in 2018."
  • I think this change adds some important context about changes that McKenna made when she came to Walmart U.S. and it is sourced to a quality publication.
• Third, I suggest changing the last sentence in that paragraph to the following: She also brought features to Walmart U.S. that were present at Asda, including online ordering and in-store pickup, including grocery pickup.
  • This change helps mix up the language a bit, and adds further context related to the changes McKenna made to e-commerce at Walmart U.S.
• Fourth, I suggest changing the paragraph beginning "In January 2018" to the following: McKenna became president and CEO of Walmart International in February 2018, where she is responsible for the strategy and operations for 5,100 stores in 23 countries, including Mexico, Canada, China, and India. As head of Walmart International, McKenna reshaped the portfolio with the sale of operations in Japan, Argentina, Brazil, and the United Kingdom, moves she said were made to promote the long-term health of Walmart International and the businesses sold. She has worked to expand the role of e-commerce in Walmart's businesses, including overseeing the $16 billion acquisition of 77 percent of Flipkart, the largest online retailer in India.
  • This is the biggest change of the bunch, but it's necessary. I think this is a significant improvement over the current content, which uses some outdated language ("announced that McKenna would" instead of saying she took the post, for example), includes outdated content (25 countries) and lacks some additional context about what she has done since assuming the post. I think you'll find the sourcing here to be high quality and I hope you find the language neutral.
• Finally, I suggest changing the last sentence of the section to the following: "McKenna was first named to Fortune's list of 50 Most Powerful Women in 2015. As of 2022, McKenna ranked no. 14 on the list."
  • This list was becoming a bit unwieldy and McKenna has been on the list for three years not included in the article. I think this change is a succinct way to sum up her place on the Fortune list and does so in a way that does not require a dozen references in one sentence, which makes it read much more nicely.

Hello editors, I had another request for the article. I recently went through the process of donating this image of Judith to Wikimedia Commons and was wondering if we could update the article to replace the image in the infobox with this more current image? Store number request

Hi editors, I had one small update request to make. Walmart International's store and country count has been updated after some sales and I was hoping we could reflect that in the article. Could we change the sentence, "McKenna became president and CEO of Walmart International in February 2018, where she is responsible for the strategy and operations for 5,100 stores in 23 countries, including Mexico, Canada, China, and India." to "McKenna became president and CEO of Walmart International in February 2018, where she is responsible for the strategy and operations for more than 5,100 stores in 19 countries, including Mexico, Canada, China, and India." based on this source? I know it is a primary source but it is more up-to-date than the sources currently cited. @Michael Bednarek:, would you consider taking a look at this request? I'd really appreciate it! Retirement update

Hi editors, I had a small request. Could a volunteer update the article to note that McKenna retired from Walmart International in August 2023 as supported by this Fortune article?
