Last name[edit]

As with Andrew Lloyd Webber, Julian's last name is Webber, not Lloyd Webber. As he himself states in an interview [1], "Lloyd" is the middle name. --FordPrefect42 20:47, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is your last name "Lloyd Webber," or is there a tradition in your family of using the same middle and last names? Your brother, Andrew, also shares this. My father's middle name was Lloyd. He adopted it professionally to avoid confusion with another organist, William Webber. I guess the name has stuck!

Lloyd was originally his father's middle name. By "I guess the name has stuck!", does he mean it's now their last name professionally? --Usgnus

The way I understand this, it is a familiy tradition now to have the middle name shared by all male members. But I may be wrong after all, it is the best source to be found, concerning the Webber's last name. --FordPrefect42 21:08, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, I reverted a minute before you posted this talk page. I would not have done so if I had seen this. --Usgnus 20:55, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to re-revert ;-) --FordPrefect42 21:08, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Likewise. --Usgnus 21:10, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know people may disagree with me but it would make sense to include the "Lloyd" as part of JLW's surname. I know that his father William only added the Lloyd later on in his life, but the Lloyd has been passed down in the family name. So if the "Lloyd" is part of the family name, it should be OK to treat it as part of the surname. Yip1982 (talk) 06:28, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Use of first name vs last name in article[edit]

I think it would be preferable that the article refer to him as "Webber" rather than as "Julian" - which is too familiar and seems more like a fanzine or fan club biography than a serious biographical article. Davidpatrick 09:13, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:JLW.YM.jpg[edit]

Image:JLW.YM.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Let's get the marriages right.[edit]

Julian's first wife, who he married in 1974, was Celia Ballantyne, a journalist. After their union was dissolved in 1989, he wed Zohra Ghazi, an exiled Afghan princess, by whom he had a son, David, 17. His third marriage was to the French-Algerian Kheira Bourahla. Jiaxin Cheng is his fourth wife, aking him one up on brother Andrew.

Community Tech bot (talk) 08:58, 21 July 2018 (UTC) Last year Julian Lloyd Webber and I contacted user Michael Bednarek asking him kindly to delete the photo of Julian and Jiaxin he had uploaded. We posted another photo which had Julian and Jiaxin's approval instead and we have now noticed that the photo has been deleted and replaced again with Bednarek's photo. We are not familiar with Wikipedia editing, can we please ask that you respect Julian's wish and leave the photo he had chosen? Thank you.[reply]

Article not complete[edit]

This article completely fails to mention that JLW has not played the Cello since 2014. This is apparently due a slipped disc in his neck which has hampered movement in his right arm.

i was aware they he was due to play a concert in my local concert hall (for which I had tickets). The concert was cancelled with the announcement that he was unlikely to play again. 86.186.4.148 (talk) 07:19, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
