@Dxneo, Coolmarc, and Qaqaamba: taking this review. 750h+ 00:04, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

750h+, I believe everything is fine now. dxneo (talk) 00:44, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
More will be coming. Watch this page when I add comments. 750h+ 01:16, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

1. Well-written [edit]

lead
  • Tyla's 2024 self-titled debut album. ==> Tyla's 2024 eponymous debut album.
 Done: although there was a debate on whether it should be "eponymous" or "self-titled" and consensus ruled in "self-titled" even on the album.
  • "Jump" charted at number 18 in South Africa, and became Tyla's second top-40 entry on the UK Singles Chart. remove comma
 Done
  • Directed by Nabil, the accompanying music video was mainly filmed in the Johannesburg areas of Hillbrow and Soweto. Local media regarded the video as an authentic representation of South Africa. I feel like something like "The music video, directed by Nabil, was mainly filmed in the Johannesburg areas of Hillbrow and Soweto, and was regarded by local media as an authentic representation of South Africa." would improve the structure
 Done
background and release
  • An accompanying lyric video was shared on YouTube the same day. I'd link YouTube and change "An" to "The"
 Done
composition and release
  • No problems here, this section passes.
critical reception
  • Tai Saint-Louis of HipHopDX said the feature was wasted because Gunna sounds "barely recognizable". "was wasted" coukd probably be changed to something more formal.

 Done

commercial performance
  • no problems here, the section passes.
music video
  • Tyla dances on a shebeen's pool table and on a balcony with a DStv satellite dish. remove the second "on"
 Done
  • The singer is seen seated in a braiding chair handing a hairpiece to her stylist. ==> "She is seen seated in a braiding chair handing a hairpiece to her stylist."
 Done

2. Verifiable with no original research [edit]

  • So the sources look fine right now; if this does get taken to FA you might expect a bit more questioning. There are some YouTube sources but they are published by reliable sources so that seems pretty good. Sources 17, 22, 24, 29 and 65 all look good. Earwig finds a copy violation unlikely, with a 20.0% similarity to a Billboard source. Source review pass. 750h+ 01:33, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

3. Broad in its coverage [edit]

  • Seems comprehensive. Looking at other song articles, I believe this one does not neglect any major facts. It is fully focused on the song "Jump", and does not excessively so into unneeded detail. Pass. 750h+ 01:45, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

4. Neutral [edit]

  • My issues in "1." have been addressed so I'll be passing this. 750h+ 01:51, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

5. Stable [edit]

  • Because of the improvements the article has been undergoing to elevate it to GA status, I can see why there is heavy editing. I'll leave this as neutral. 750h+ 01:51, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

6. Ilustrated [edit]

  • Two images in the article, both of which are appropriately licensed. Pass. 750h+ 03:04, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Verdict[edit]

@Dxneo, Coolmarc, and Qaqaamba: with nothing else to comment on, I think I can pass this for Good Article status. Unless you guys have any questions? 750h+ 03:06, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@750h+: Thank you for the review! Regarding "self-titled", this was discussed on the talk page in a prematurely archived discussion. From my experience, the word eponymous is generally discouraged as being overly formal. WP:TITULAR mentions "Eponymous" can reduce clarityCool Marc 04:31, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. With that I'm happy to pass for 750h+ 05:22, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
