Pilots

I'm almost certain that there were earlier female fighter pilots, specifically in the Soviet Air Force during WWII, so I'm going to remove "perhaps the first".

Recorded

"Recorded on this day"? why does that only appear on this entry? Should it appear at all. Trivia, at best. Matthewmayer 00:30, 3 Apr 2004 (UTC)

This seems to be a paraphrase from Sublimus Dei, which was signed May 29. See The Catholic Encyclopedia: "the Indians are truly men"...who " are by no means to be deprived of their liberty or the possession of their property"...nor "in any way enslaved"...but rather "should be converted to the faith of Jesus Christ by preaching the word of God and by the example of good and holy living". This seems to be another example of conversion from a historical Julian date to a proleptic Gregorian date, though it's off-by-one. - Nunh-huh 06:05, 9 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Could not be confirmed outside of 'this day in history'-type webpages and/or Wikipedia mirrors. --mav 05:12, 9 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Cartier never reached the river in 1534, and the French Wikipedia article on him says he reached the Gulf of St Lawrence on the 10th, not the 9th; 1534 agrees with this date.Masque (talk) 07:59, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

Perfetto

Dear Mr. Trogel: Thank you for for pointing out my error on the June 9 page. I did not realize there was no information readily available on Mr. Perfetto. I regret his exclusion from the article, but until one of us discovers a source of information on him, I am afraid that he will have to remain an enigma.

Good day M Muise

Deleted from this day. --193.56.241.75 13:05, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

National Sex Day

6/9 is National Sex Day, it's all over Facebook today. What's required for it to be added to Wikipedia? --71.63.138.150 (talk) 21:06, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

An article, at a minimum. Then proof that it happens every year and is widely observed. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 21:12, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

William Jennings Bryan and the Lusitania affair

Woodrow Wilson was President at the time of the Lusitania incident, not Theodore Rooseveldt.70.67.185.209 (talk) 00:38, 9 June 2019 (UTC)

Ananda Mahidol

Events of 9 June 1946

According to the Ananda Mahidol's wikipedia page. He was suspected for being assassinated in this day. I think we should consider entering this event in to this June 9 page.

Deaths

Since he was suspected for being assassinated and his death was also confirmed in this day. As a monarch of Siam (Thailand at this time), I think he deserves a line here.
