Mistranslation: Nowaki

[edit]

"Nowaki Kusama (草間 野分 Kusama Nowaki?) was orphaned without a name as an infant, he was named "Nowaki" ("typhoon" in Japanese) by the head of the orphanage because he was found in a heavy rain storm." This seems to be taken directly from the Aarinfantasy sub, and it's not accurate enough. The Japanese word for typhoon... is "typhoon" (or 'taifuu'台風). The English is a loanword from either Chinese or Japanese. Can we find a more precise rendering of this construction? Mfrisk (talk) 05:56, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Junjou "Mystique"

[edit]

Who keeps changing "Mistake" back to "Mystique"? The Japanese, ミステイク (=misteiku) is quite clearly "mistake." It would have to be ミスティーク (mistiiku) to be read as "mystique." And if it's a case of vandalism -- I really don't understand why anybody would bother with this stub article.

Eike (talk) 10:36, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Most of these terms are fansub/scanlation. Does anyone read the actual BLU manga? Plus 200.105.168.72, please stop editing the Junjō Mistake/Mystique section. わwaらraうu Smile! 00:40, 18 November 2008 (UTC)moocowsrule[reply]
It is "純情ミスティク" without the chōon-pu. Besides Mystique doesn't even appear in the manga, so what's the big deal? わwaらraうu Smile! 02:30, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have read the BLU manga, but I don't see what that has to do with Junjou Mistake as Blu hasn't translated any of that? Mistake isn't a case of "fan" translation preferences -- ミステイク is the Japanese transliteration of "mistake." I even doubled-checked, every Japanese website clearly lists it as 純情ミステイク and not ミスティク. Your argument would be like saying we could spell ブラッド・ピット as "Blood Pit," when quite clearly "Brad Pitt" is intended.
And even if it doesn't appear in the main manga, it gets referenced in this article so it should be kept as correct as possible. Eike (talk) 14:21, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The October 2008 release of season 2.

[edit]

Throughout the web have been reports that season 2 may not even be broadcast due to (despite what this article claims) a lack of profit. I want to know if this page is up to date, or if these rumors are true.

Main Japanese Anime Site

[edit]

On the main site I found several CD's (most by pigstar [Op and End songs] and JUNED [Uh... who?]), a game, a HUGE assortment of merchandise (like HUGE, see here). I'll get to work transliterating the CD titles and game titles. No Light Novel (so far), unless you count a game as a Light Novel... --わwaらraうu Smile! 07:47, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that's why I added the sections for them :) The merchandise like the keychains and stuff doesn't need summarizing, but the rest do. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 07:54, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
First single, "Junjō Romantica 2: Ōpuningu Tēma "Shōdō" Ātisuto: pigstar", second single: Junjō Romantica 2: Endingu Tēma "Aioi" Ātisuto: JUNED", third single: "OP Tēma "Kimi=Hana" Ātisuto: pigstar", fourth single: "ED Tēma "Beibī Romanchika" Ātisuto: SCRIPT". Actually it goes from 4 to 1, so the 4th single is the 1st, I just transliterated it weird. The game title is: Dokidoki no Saishin Jōhō o Oshirase Itashi Masumasu ☆". Then the merchandise is completely unneeded. わwaらraうu Smile! 08:03, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
PS: the part that says :"Junjō Romantica 2:..." really translates as "Dai ni Ki:..." but since it's referring to "Junjō Romantica 2" I think that's what it should be. PPS: Here's the Kanji: The Shōdō one: 第2期オープニングテーマ 「衝動」 アーティスト:pigstar, the Aioi one: 第2期エンディングテーマ 「相生-アイオイ-」 アーティスト:JUNED", the Kim=Hana one: OPテーマ『君=花』 アーティスト:pigstar, the Beibi Romanchika one: EDテーマ『ベイビーロマンチカ』 アーティスト:SCRIPT. PPPS: The artist isn't pigstar for Beibi Romanchika, it's SCRIPT. --わwaらraうu Smile! 08:11, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The game is more of a dating sim. So far I think you can play as 6 characters, the Junjo Romantica couple, the Junjo Egoist couple, and the Junjo Terrorist couple. Other than that I don't know much about it. There's nothing about it on the Japanese page, and not much about it online. わwaらraうu Smile! 22:16, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Subtitle "Pure Romance"

[edit]

I have a copy of the BLU English release of the mange, and there is no subtitle present. The entire title given is merely "Junjo Romantica". I'm wondering if the article should be renamed to match this, it being a primary English language source. Thoughts? —mpdimitroff (talk · contribs) 18:25, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cover image guidelines

[edit]

Hey, sorry about changing the image to the English release. I was unaware pf the guidelines regarding that. In fact, I'm having trouble find them (couldn't find them on the Anime/Manga Manual of Style), so could someone please point me in the right direction? —mpdimitroff (talk · contribs) 14:37, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
